Contract for the construction of Shirvan hydroponic greenhouse using EPC method

According to the public relations report of the Melal Economic Development Group, the ceremony for the construction of the Shirvan greenhouse was held in the presence of the CEOs of the Melal Economic Development Group, Ziba Sazeh Toosgam Company, Yekta Melal Future Agricultural Development Company, and Asrar Pooyaye Shargh Company as the project executor. This contract was concluded in order to develop the agricultural infrastructure of North Khorasan Province and with the aim of exporting various types of bell peppers and tomatoes, etc. to neighboring countries, on a land area of ​​100 hectares with a cultivated area of ​​27.3 hectares, as the largest advanced hydroponic greenhouse in the northeast of the country. The amount of this contract is 12 trillion rials, and including 3 trillion rials of expenses incurred so far, the total volume of credits up to this stage will be 15 trillion rials, which is expected to reach more than 20 trillion rials in total expenses. Also, according to the plans, the construction time of this mega project is 28 months, and with its operation, a major transformation will be created in the agricultural and food industry of Shirvan province and region.

The benefits of hydroponic greenhouse cultivation include increasing production per unit area, increasing the quality of the produced product, reducing the use of chemical pesticides, saving water, using non-arable lands, not depending on environmental conditions, the possibility of appropriate marketing by adjusting the cultivation schedule, and creating job opportunities by producing products in all seasons.

The unique features of this project include the possibility of continuous export throughout the year, increasing the economic efficiency of agricultural activity in the region, empowering farmers in the region to produce valuable products, implementing creative projects in the region with a gradual change in traditional agricultural culture, creating and launching the largest seedling production center in the northern region of the country, and meeting farmers' needs for appropriate and quality seedlings.

At this ceremony, Dr. Ghafoor Kharamehr, Managing Director of the Nations Economic Development Group, expressed his satisfaction with this cooperation and pointed out the importance of paying attention to the environment and using new technologies in the future of agriculture. Stating that no bank facilities or loans were used in this project, he acknowledged that in line with the development of knowledge-based activities, a specialized research and development center will be established and put into operation to develop suitable varieties of seeds and seedlings for the country, as well as the training needed by farmers by exchanging knowledge and technology with reputable international universities.

Referring to the high potential of the Shirvan region, he stated that this contract will contribute significantly to economic growth and job creation in this region.
